Philosophical and Statistical difference between Green Belt and Black Belt Professionals
Friends, welcome back to our blog and our website. It is a delightful experience when we see you read our articles posted on our website.
We love your curiosity to understand the Philosophical and Statistical difference between the Green Belt and Black Belt professionals.
Below are some basic difference that we highlight however the below information is after doing a survey with many of the organizations and about 60% of organizations follow the below differences. While you continue to read this article, we hereby assume that you understand and realize Lean Six Sigma terminologies.
* Here are some difference highlighted below:
Green Belt |
Black Belt |
Work on VOC that are internal facing |
Work on VOC, VOP, VOB and VOE that are both internal and external |
Team Level projects |
Client Facing projects |
|
Account level projects that can spread across locations. |
|
Trained to work as an individual contributor and work in clients location on critical projects |
Black Belt mentor Green Belts to identify potential projects |
Usage of QFD, Kano Models are used to identify opportunities for improvement |
VA – NVA Analysis |
Process Mapping and if need be VSM (Value Stream Mapping) |
|
Work on Critical Success Factor |
|
Establish Stakeholder Analysis |
MSA if need be in Green Belt, Black Belt mentors and coaches in this project |
Validation of “Y” metric using MSA |
Baseline data would be Normal where P.Value => 0.05 |
Black Belts are expected to work where their baseline data will be either normal or non-normal |
|
In the case wherein baseline data is non-normal; Black Belts assure the data is stable |
Work on central tendency “MEAN” |
Work on improving central tendencies like Medium, Mode, IQR including Mean |
Work on projects were UNIT is defined as “1” |
Black Belts are also trained on working in Projects wherein Units => 1; however still recommended to work on projects where Units = 1 |
Work on data types are either discrete or continuous normal data |
Expected to work on projects where data needs to be continuous non normal data while they also work on discrete and continuous normal data |
Usage of 7 QC Tools and Basic statistical tools to analyze the data |
Equipped with advanced statistical tools in Lean Six Sigma giving them the leverage of using and analyzing any sort / kind of data in any time of environment |
